publicity

everyday anyone in Japan receives sth like 30 different ads in the mailbox
here is a prominent example of underwear pub:
the underwear that is supposed to fix any body problem, and make us looking great outside, and die squeezed inside....

oh and another new local invention is the ghost radar (supposed to ring and inform us if there is a ghost nearby and what is more they will also tell us what type of ghost it is!!!!!!!!!!!)

from times online :
The Times took the radar to two of the most notoriously haunted places in Tokyo. The first, in the middle of the Otemachi financial district, was Taira no Masakado, the shrine of a decapitated descendant of Emperor Kammu whose ghostly disembodied head will reportedly slay anyone attempting to move the monument. Even the presence of this unspeakable evil did not cause the ghost radar to flicker. It did, however, register a type-6 moving spirit as it passed a drinks vending machine about 250 metres away.

autumn and food

Autumn is one of top seasons for food in Japan, here are some pics of food from the season

you can click on image to see it better, and bon apetit

liers

a friend just told me about recent study where Japanese, Chinese and few other Asian nations are rated as the most likely to lie. I do not think that they actually lie this much but study counted events like telling someting to make other person feel good (ie you look nice today) or not telling about a problem in the company as lies. It is pretty much tied with the hierarchy in the companies, in Japan hierarchy is very important, showing respect and loyality to the boss, maintaining good name of the company saving face etcIn Nordic countries that were rated as non-liers the structures are flat and the boundaries between posts blurred.

anyway as far as the lies are concerned here is a recent ad from a newspaper magic cream that makes your wrinkles dissapear

today

today is late..
and i am writing about Shikli Theatre it is a broadway type of theatre in Japan, very popular among middle aged women, saw Cats there was nice, although in japanese

everyday i take hanzomon line of metro to go to work, there are often TV screens incorporated,
one of the top commercials there is microdiet
if you use microdiet (local Slimfast) you will loose weight examples from 54 to 48 kg.. I guess being skinny is very important now in Japan, that is true all girls here are very beautiful and very skinny

ok i have to go back to work!

listening to: Death Cab for Cutie
eating: Dean & Deluca choco mints

Oh and last Sunday I did the modelling job and it was interesting but quite a hard task, repeating same poses for hours and smiling and waiting.. very difficult job, we did it next to Roppongi hills for a luxury masions / houses catalogue,
slow life lot of champagne and camember cheese

what will be today for lunch?
2 diet 0 calories gelly bags filled with all required vitamins to guide me through the day,
1 bag of gellified collagen and a very interesting desert,
it contains strange cubes swimming in a sweeted water and the taste is slightly sweet, with a gelly/chewy consistency
1 box only 59 cals

ok I have to run analyze Venture Capital returns in Europe and US, lunchbreak over!

recent japanese inventions

Here they are the stars of the innovation on the japanese food market
Fuwarinka - by Kanebo - a rose-tasting candies that are supposed to improve the smell of your body (however we do not know whether we are going to smell like a rose or even whether we should eat them few times a day or only before some particulary challenging events)
anyway I will test it for a while and post results if any here...
oh and they also come in a lemon flavor !
Also on the pic we have a chewing gum that is supposed to make us more beautiful
(here is a little trick: chewing gum - no sugar- keeps tooth in a good shape = beauty)
so no, they are not going to change my face or my body shape..
and they taste Lychee- mint

Rasu - the cat

Here is Rasu, some of you know him, big fat Garfield-like cat
he is 14 years old and very very lazy
eating mainly sashimi..

Iwonka a teste pour vous / Iwonka tested for you

Oh I almost forgot about Japanese innovation tests so today we are testing:
japanese energy drinks in a small bottles available in a convenience store and automatic machines etc the average cost is about 1 euro per bottle and better drink it cold !

I already drunk D3000 - contains magnesium, taurine and vitamins ( a brave japanese salaryman needs all this no doubt ) !!

the taste: ok

effects: waiting.. but feeling a bit UP

2 min later : feel pretty much up without the unpleasant fast heart-beat that coffee gives sometimes (if drunk in a big quantities)

Japanese are the biggest consumers of such drinks, with ginseng, coffeine, taurine etc everywhere you can find them on sale. I guess it is because they work so hard. I know quite a few people that stay in the office overnight on a weekly basis. Recently I met a girl who is now consultant but previously worked in a bank, At her previous job she worked: 9:30 AM till 3 AM Monday to Friday and entire Saturday plus Sunday "only" till 3 pm..

so these drinks are crucial !!

The second drink on the picture is a part of so called healthy drinks supplying you with vitamines and minerals etc and many very strange nutritients that I never heared about...

today

Listening to: Telefon TelAviv "My week is your year"
and 2 Many DJs
Need: my beautyfying box because I look shitty (by beautyfying box I mean a huge box filled with cosmetics...) and a big coffee
Plans for weekend: Photo session (going to be on advertising of some luxury mansion)
Plans for the next 4 days: Loose 2kg (because photo shooting on Sunday)
catch up with work
(don't even ask me how much I have to catch up with )
Drinking: "Fauchon Apple Tea" I bought it in an automatic distributor and paid with my subway ticket - recent japanese innovation I have a subway card where I put some amount of money, it is a magnetic card, and after I can use it also as a small cash card ) Nice and convenient

Mold

Mold is everywhere in Tokyo and in Japan, that is quite common to get shoes or clothes in the mold, green blue spots appear on white garmets and white mold on shoes. This is because of a humidity.. I have not been a victim of a mold yet.. ok except for a tea in my office - after 4 days (we had holidays here) I returned today and saw a big moldy spots on it
disguasting...
ok have to work on some teaching notes for cases and venture capital presentation
and will write about sumo next time

Yokohama

I went to Yokohama recently, visited local Attractions Park and almost puked on one of the attractions that in the beginning was looking pretty "mild" maybe because just before jumping on it I ate a "crepe"?

Yuki the dog left us

unfortunatelly Yuki the dog,
(precisely Yuki Nakamura, because it was Hiroki's dog)
died last week at the age of 18! here is a pic of Yuki taken 2 weeks before he died...

No calorie food

here they are no calorie jelly drinks!!

Iwonka a teste pour vous / Iwonka tested for you

Japanese low calorie or zero calorie jelly by Kanebo
pretty yummie but wondering how much I can actually
eat
today choice: Grape taste, with CoQ10 and vitamins covering 1/3 of daily intake needs

After I took Asahi apple jelly drink 39kcals and vitamins etc
wondering whether one could live on this..and how long

Overall rating:
Taste: 8/10 (maybe because I was hungry)
Feel: Kanebo was better the Asahi one was kind of artificial taste (as 99% products in Japan)
Hungry: no but not sure for how long
